I decided to pick up a few part time uni courses this year. Although my initial web type job was content based I’ve been getting more and more interested in web design and development for the past few years. I’ve been doing lots of smallish projects, learning as I go along, weeks of murderous frustration totally eclipsed by those rare but wonderful eureka moments when it all fits into place.
I know that my self education must have some big patchy holes in it and when I realiesd you could do modules at the local uni without having to take a full degree I signed up for: Web Design and Authoring, Web Development and Marketing Concepts. I was also tempted by a programming course but I really need to narrow my field of focus rather than keep expanding it all the time or I will be the proverbial jack of all trades and master of none.
